Hi,
I'm Sofie Holvoet, a sixteen-year old girl. I live in a small village called Ruiselede. I have no brothers and sisters, yes, I'm all alone at home and it's great fun.
Something about my character: I love talking, I never keep my mouth shut! I laugh a lot and people say I'm very sociable because I easily make new friends.
What keeps me busy? At week-ends you can find me in the youth hostel 'De Jester' in Ruiselede, at parties or in a disco with my friends. I'm also a leader in a youth movement called the KAJ and I love to go to the cinema every Sunday evening!
By the way my favourite kind of music is house and techno!

Hello, I'm Ellen Kerckaert. I'm 16, almost 17 and I live in Ruiselede. That's a small village, near Tielt, with logs of young people. I live 3 kilometres from the village. I have one sister, Ilse, who's 14 years. Sometimes we have a little difference of opinion, especially when we watch television. My parents don't like that. My mother, Christa, is a cleaning woman and my father, Luc, a bank employee. My parents are sometimes al little severe, for them a rule is a rule and you can't change break it. Sometimes that's very though.
I like to go out with my friends. We go to party's or a café. On Fridays, I go to the KLJ. That's a youth movement. We go bowling, cycling, horse riding or watch a movie. I like it a lot. In the weekend I go playing volleyball. Every Wednesday I train with a group of eight girls. I also like to run or to cycle. I really like to laugh too. Maybe it's strange, but I could laugh with the most stupid things first. I always say, laughing is better than crying.
Do you want to know how my character is like? Well, I can be a little subborn, I'm reliable, and quiet when I don't know the people. But once I know them, I can't stop talking. I also like t o help people. I like watching a good movie and listening to music. I also like reading a good book and my favourite book is "The Client" from John Grisham.

My name is Bjorn Lambert, I am 16 years old and I live in the centre of Wingene, near Tielt. My address is Kaplotestraat 36, 8750 Wingene. It is a great village with a new swimming pool. The name of my mother is Elsy, my father’s name is Luc and my sister is called Kelly, she is 20 years old. I like playing soccer, I play soccer in competition. At this moment, we are fifth (there are 14 teams). I am a defender. Twice a week, there is a training of two hours and on Sundays there is a match. I also like watching films, playing computergames, listening to music (especially house) and going out. I have got a lot of funny friends at school. I am a very busy person and I can’t sit still. At home there is a pond in the garden with plenty of fish. We also have two televisions, a computer, three radios, a Playstation and a video. My room is small, but very cosy. There are a few posters, a desk, a radio and many more things. My favourite food is spaghetti. At school, my favourite subjects are gym, mathematics and drawing.

I'm Inge Lattré, I didn't know that it would be so difficult to introduce myself to another person. I don't know who you are, who your parents are or your family. So I will try to say something about myself: I live in Aarsele, a village near Tielt. Most of the people who live here know each other. When my friends and I go out, we go to a café in Tielt or to a party. In Aarsele I'm in a youth movement (ksa). I really like it there. We organize games for younger people (7-15 years old). We are all just like a big family.
But what about my real family: mmm... . My parents are Marc Lattré and Maria Verbrugghe. My father works in Tielt. My mother is a housewife. They are both very nice. I also have two brothers and a sister. Tom is 23 years old, Pieter is 19 years old and Isabel is 21 years old.
I like sports. I play volleyball. I would really want to do more sports if I had more time.I play the guitar a little bit.
I'm a socioble girl, I like to talk and to travel so that I can meet new people. It is the best way to learn to know them.
I dislike humans who are ignorant, naïve, selfish and people who don't care about nature and who don't defend their ideals.

I’m Peter Oosterlinck. I live in Egem, a village near Tielt. I’m 17 years old (on 09-03-00). I’m 1m73 and I have black hair. I like to wear sportswear like Adidas, Nike, Kappa,… And I don’t smoke.
My father is called Jan and my mother Caroline Deneweth. They are very good parents. I also have a younger brother called Tom; he’s 14. And also a cat "Zwartje" (= Dutch for Blacky).
In my free time I practise judo, I have a brown belt. I also listen to all kinds of house music: dance, techno, trance, but most of all to hardcore (Thunderdome, Australian,…), so I’m a gabber. And I don’t like hardrock, heavy metal, and kind of music. I also like having fun together with some friends.
My favourite food is French fries (in reality they aren’t French, but they are from Belgium) or pizza. My favourite drinks are Baccardi Breezer, Pisang and Lipton Ice Tea.

My name is Lies Priem. I’m 16 years old and I live in Ingelmunster. It’s a little village in Belgium. These are things you must visit when you come to Belgium. You can go to the Ardennes for long walks in the woods or you can go to the seaside if you want to swim in the sea or to walk on the beach.
My village isn’t very far from the coast, so we often go to the seaside.
Then we go for a long walk and drink a cup of coffee in the comfortable tea-rooms. I like my country because, the people are very friendly and it’s very populated.
Well, enough about my country, let’ s talk about me!
At home, I’m the only child and I must say that I miss a brother or a sister especially an older brother, who can take you where you want to go. But instead of this, I have a lot of pets, for example : a dog, called Fredje, a rabbit, called Langoortje, three chickens and two fish.
My family isn’t very big. I have only three uncles and three aunts also two nieces and two nephews. My two grand-mothers and my two grand-fathers are still alive just like one grand-mother of my mum.
One of my hobbies is playing with my pets. But I have also a lot of other hobbies: I like writing letters, reading books, watching television or movies at the cinema, playing football, having fun with my friends, shopping in big cities and the most important one is travelling.

My name is Frederik Rosseel, and I have just turned 17. I live in a rather small village, called Pittem. I live in a quiet housing estate together with my mum, dad and sister. My father, called Hendrik, is a 43-year-old butcher. He runs his own business, so he is a hard worker. He doesn’ t spend much time at home. My mother, Martine, helps in the butcher’s shop, but only part-time. So she stays a lot of time at home and runs the household. My parents are young at heart and are always prepared to listen to me in case I have a problem.I Also have a good relationship with my sis Stefanie. She ‘s only 13 years old, so she is quite a bit younger. Together we take care of our two domestic pets. Two cute little pussy-cats, called Simba and Chiba. In my leasure time, I like being busy with soccer. I play in the Youth team of SK Tielt, a small local football-team. I often go and watch a game of a local football-club, and sometimes I go to a match of the best Belgian Football-team, RSC Anderlecht (my favorite club). Another big passion of mine is music, especially hard-rock an all kinds of metal-music. When I am in my room, there is always a CD playing. Now and then, I go to a performance of one or other local metal-band. And when I have some time left, I try to play some bass-guitar, or write lyrics. And to conclude last : of course I like going out on saturday evening ! ! !

Well, I have quite a lot of hobbies. I love tennis, also in competition and I also like other sports.

My name is Celine Van Simaeys, I'm 17 years old and I live in Wielsbeke.
Wielsbeke is a little village in Belgium. I live there with my mother Marijke, my father Bernard and my older sister Sofie. I also have 2 fish.
They haven't got a name yet, because we had them that long.So if you have any suggestions, you can always tell me!!!In my spare time I like watching television (I really like watching romantic, humoristic and exciting movies) and listening to music (mostly I listen to my cd's. A couple of my favorite groups are: eels, Smashing Pumpkins, k's Choice, Jewel,…). I also like shopping and of course I also like going to parties at the weekends. I usually go out two or three times a month. When I go out, I prefer to go with a group from school.
On Sunday I also go to the chiro. This is a yougth movement for young people from 10 till 18 years old. And after these 8 years of being a member, you can become a leader. So you can stay in the chiro for as long as you like. Now it's my last year as a member so next year I'll be a leader. I'm already looking forward to become one. Because when we are on camp we always play games with the younger groups and it's really a lot of fun.
Both of my parents are 39 years old. They both work a lot, so at the weekends they like to relax. My sister is 19 and she still goes to school. She's very artistic ans I must say that I really admire the work that she does for school. She always has to design special things for commercials. I have a rather big family. I have 8 uncles, 7 aunts, 5 nieces and 10 nephews. I have 2 grandmothers and 2 grandfathers and I also have a great- grandmother and she 's turning 90 this year.

I’ll try to introduce myself as best as I can. My name is Joeri Verfaillie and I’m 16 years old. I’m 1m 82, I have brown hair and brown eyes. I only have one brother, who is 19 years old. My family is very kind and nice. We haven’t any domestic animals, although I would like to have a cat or a dog (but not a big one). I live in a cheerful house that’s situated in a small village.
Now a few subjects that you might find more interesting. I like going out, hanging out with friends, making fun, listening to music, watching television for hours and many other relaxing things. The music that I really like is House, Techno, Hardcore and other kinds of dance –music. I certainly don’t like Hardrock –music. When I go out with friends, we mostly go to a dancing or a party. I am Tine Veys, 16 and I live in Belgium, near Tielt, a small town in the East of Flanders. My hobbies are sport (tennis, cycling, swimming, etc.), going out with friends, listening to music and I am a bit hooked on television.
Our family consists of five people : my parents and three girls. My 2 sisters are called Sophie and Annelies. They are 20 and 21 years old. During the week, they stay in Ghent, they both have a room over there. Maybe you would think that I’m lucky to be alone at home. But the school is there (from 8.30 until 16) and after school I go to the reading room until six o’clock. You see, I’m hardly at home.
My father is a really busy insurance agent, he works at his office and in the evening he has to go to several meetings. My mother Mieke, helps him with his job.
During the week everything rushes by, but at weekends we all take a break and have a bit of time for our sweet dog and the hamster Mabbish.

I'm Rachel Fratta, I'm an student change from AFS (interculturel student change ) I come from Paraguay - Latin America and I'm here in Belgium for one year. I live in a host family and I'm doing this schoolyear in the Bron. Well, in Belgium up to now I've had good and bad moments like everybody in the life. Fortunately, I have a nice family and very good friends . I think that's the most important , isn't it? I love dance salsa, merenge ... (dances from latin America), and have contact with people.
